The Crossett Economic Development Foundation began operations in April 2001 and is funded by a voter-passed 1/4 cent sales tax. Since its inception, the Foundation has worked to provide quality economic development services to the City of Crossett. The primary mission of the Crossett Economic Development Foundation is to create jobs and opportunities for our community. The Foundation has been successful by building a network of knowledgeable professionals willing to help our community.
When the Foundation began operations, the City of Crossett did not own viable acreage ready for industrial development. Today, the Crossett Industrial Park is certified as a Select Site by Entergy's Teamwork Arkansas. The Foundation is also proud to be lead by one of the few certified Economic Developers in the state.
The Foundation has invested in new infrastructure and many prerequisite studies necessary for new development. Jobs have been both saved and created due to the Foundation working with both new and existing industries. Most of the improvements to the infrastructure at the Industrial Park, as well as several community development projects, have been funded through grant dollars secured by the Foundation. Without the ability to secure these grants, development projects would have been lost to other communities. In addition to recruiting new industry, the Foundation has taken the responsibility of assisting with business plans and navigating the financing process with owners to secure existing businesses in Crossett.
In addition, the Foundation realizes that in order to recruit and keep businesses our community must be the best we that we can be. A full-time, trained grant writer works with our area nonprofits and government entities to seek funding and further develop our community into the kind of place people want to live and do business.
We are excited to help you learn more about Crossett and all the wonderful things we have to offer your business. Please contact us to learn more.
